Fear
Isaiah said, “The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, ‘Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the LORD of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe.’”
How fitting his words are in the middle of a financial crisis and wars and rumors of wars. It would do us all well to “not think like everyone else does.” If you put your trust in God, you’ve got no reason to fear a downturn in the economy.
Keep it in mind.

Buckets
There’s a massive waterfall that falls from a thousand foot tall cliff in the middle of a forest.
A man has come to the base of the waterfall carrying an old bucket which was handed down to him by his father. It leaks a little and has many patches on and in it where it has been repaired over the years.
It’s been one week to the day since he last came to this waterfall and a thirsty crowd has gathered behind him again. He surveys the crowd. He recognizes familiar faces of those who have come to this waterfall many times from the dry forest. He sees a few unfamiliar faces, most likely friends or family of those who regularly gather here.
The man takes the old bucket to the base of the waterfall and fills it up. He walks back to the crowd and pours it into the cups which each person holds in their hands. The people, having received their cup of water, return to their dry homes. Slowly but surely they trickle away into the forest.
The man with the bucket watches the last of them leave, then gathers a bit more water and walks off into the forest, leaving a trail of water trickling out of his bucket along the way.
